Staff Reporter :
QUETTA: Lt. General (R) Qadir Baloch on Saturday said, “I cannot tolerate Nawaz Sharif’s statement against Pak-Army”. Announcing a formal resignation from the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Qadir Baloch termed the former premier’s statement as an attempt to create rebellion in the ranks of armed forces.
Qadir Baloch had already opposed former premier Nawaz Sharif narrative during the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) meetings in the country.
Mr. Baloch clarified, ” I cannot even think of being part of a party that speaks against military”. “Now I cannot go back to join the PML N”, he announced. Former Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, and scores of the PML N party workers were also present during the workers’ convention held at the Metropolitan Hall of Quetta.
Addressing the party workers, Nawab Zehri said Nawaz Sharif developed differences with all army chiefs. “We know you were blue-eyed of General Jailani and establishment”, he recalled Nawaz Sharif’s old alliance with the establishment. He also lashed at the Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal during his stormy address.
Mr. Baloch recalled that Nawab Zehri promoted and spread the PML N throughout Balochistan in all 33 districts at the cost of the lives of his children. Through blood, we promoted and spread this party, Qadir Baloch said. He said representatives from all 33 districts were present in the hall parting their ways with the PML N.
General (R) Qadir Baloch said that Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) and National Party (NP) had nominated Nawab Sanaullah Zehri as the chief minister with consensus. However, at the eleventh hour, Nawaz Sharif rejected the decision and nominated Dr. Malik Baloch as the chief minister of Balochistan. “We stood by the party despite this all”, he said.
