CJ BHC dismays over persistent delay in accountability courts cases

QUETTA: Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail dismayed over persistent delay in disposing of cases by accountability courts. The top judge of the province paid a surprise visit to accountability courts on Monday.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail directed the subordinate courts to ensure completion of cases as per constitution and law. Justice Nazeer Ahmed Langove also accompanied the chief justice during his visit to accountability courts.
CJ reviews cases pending in accountability courts
Chief Justice also reviewed cases pending in the accountability courts and expressed displeasure over persistent delay in disposing of cases. He convened the Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the prosecutor was also present on the occasion.
CJ BHC directed the accountability courts to make sure disposing of cases in due time and ordered the NAB to ensure the appearance of witnesses timely in the cases.
Justice Mandokhail noted that timely judgements with regard to corruption cases were important and therefore the courts should ensure timely disposing of cases. Delayed justice is not good and it also mentally affects the accused as well, he mentioned.
Show cause notices issued to Sibi judges
Chief Justice BHC also issued show-cause notices to session judge Sibi, additional session judge Sibi, civil judge and judicial magistrate for not coming to court on time. Senior judge of the BHC, Mr Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan had paid a visit to Sibi and found all the judges absent.
