QUETTA: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) was making arrangements to quarantine 25000 people at Pak-Iran border Taftan. The PDMA has currently made arrangements to quarantine 6000 people at border with Iran, the DG PDMA, Imran Zarkoon said. “We expect further arrivals of Zaireen, students and traders from Iran”, Mr. Zarkoon said.
He said food, medicines and tents were provided at Taftan border to quarantine the people coming from Iran.
Taftan border: Over 4000 Zaireen have been quarantined at five places to halt the spread of corona virus. “We have been here for last eight days and languishing in camps”, Amir Ali, one of the pilgrims coming from Iran tells Quetta Voice via telephone. He said, “we do not know why we have been kept here and when will, we go”.
Pakistan had shut down its borders with Iran and Afghanistan to contain the deadly virus that has spread to over 80 countries of the world. Corona virus has claimed over 4000 lives globally so far. Laboratory installed at Taftan:
The Balochistan government has installed a laboratory at Pak-Iran border Taftan to conduct corona virus tests on the spot. The national institute of health had provided the laboratory equipped with latest machinery, Mudassir Waheed, the secretary health Balochistan said. He however said no corona virus case was reported from any part of Balochistan.
