SP Sorab Balochistan removed over corruption charges

The Inspector-General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Rai Tahir has removed the Superintendent of Police Sorab Dost Muhammad Bugti over corruption charges. A video of policemen taking extortion went viral on social media the other day.

This prompted the Balochistan Chief to remove the officer from his position. “Police chief has ordered an inquiry against Dost Muhammad Bugti”, the police spokesman said in a statement issued to the press on Monday evening.

Further action against the officer would be taken after completion of the inquiry

Further action against the accused would be taken after completion of an inquiry, he mentioned. This action on the part of the police chief has come few days after a deputy superintendent of police Khuzdar was terminated from service for the latter’s involvement in a robbery case.

The new police chief has issued a strict warning to corrupt elements within the department to avoid creating problems for the masses and taking extortions.
