CJ BHC takes notice of COVID19 outbreak in Mekran division

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday dismayed over the outbreak of novel corona virus cases in the province. When the border with Iran is closed then how the cases are being reported here, Chief Justice BHC, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail asked the authorities during the hearing in this regard.

Senior lawyers including Rab Nawaz Advocate, Mir Attaullah Langove and others had filed a petition demanding of the court to direct the provincial government to take concrete steps to halt  the spread of deadly virus in the province. A division bench of the BHC comprising chief justice Justice Jamal Mandokhail and justice Nazeer Ahmed Langove heard the petition regarding the outbreak of corona virus.

Advocate General Balochistan, Arbab Tahir Advocate and deputy attorney general appeared before the court to present government point  of view.

The court expressed dismayed over the performance of federal government regarding measures to contain the corona virus. Despite our directives, whey the representative of federal government did not appear before the court, the Chief Justice asked. What the federal government is doing, does they do not respect the orders of the court ?, Justice Mandokhail remarked.

The BHC directed the Balochistan government to submit report about the steps being taken to contain corona virus in the province before the court.
