Serena hotel blast: case registered in CTD Quetta

Police on Thursday registered a case against unknown terrorists regarding the Quetta Serena hotel bombing. The case registered on behalf of Station House Officer (SHO) Civil Line Quetta at the Counter Terrorism Department, Azhar Akram, the Deputy Police Chief of Quetta said.
A powerful blast at the parking of the luxury hotel in Quetta had left four people dead and 11 injured. In the case, terrorism, murder, attempt to murder, explosive acts, etc included, police said.
Investigation team established
The Balochistan government has formed a high-level investigation team to probe into the terror attack. Investigators visited the spot of the incident on Thursday morning and collected evidence. Security tightened in and around Quetta after the bombing that rocked the entire provincial capital on Wednesday night. Checking of vehicles increased at all entry and exit points of the city, Muhammad Azhar Akram, the Deputy Police Chief Quetta said.
Funeral prayers offered
Funeral prayers of the blast victims including student Aimal Kasi and Shah Zaib Khan, the deputy manager of the Serena hotel offered in Quetta. A large number of people participated in the funeral prayer offered at the Kasi graveyard.
Funeral prayer of the police constable Shujaat Abbasi offered in police line Quetta. Senior police officials participated in the funeral of the martyred police constable. The funeral prayer of security guard Naseebullah offered in the Western bypass area of Quetta.
Balochistan under the grip of violence
Balochistan has been under the grip of violence for the last two decades. Terrorist attacks at security forces and civilians in Quetta and other parts of the province have claimed thousands of precious human lives.
Security situation recently improved in the aftermath of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in various parts of the province. The province shares borders with Afghanistan, Iran, and the Gulf States via the Arabian Sea in the South.
