News Agencies:
The COVID-19 has claimed over 10000 lives worldwide on Friday. The number of people tested positive for the novel corona virus has reached 2,44,000 globally, according to Johns Hopkins University, which is tracking cases reported by the World Health Organization and additional sources.
Most the deaths have been reported from mainland China where the virus initially surfaced affecting thousands of people. In human losses, Italy stands second and Iran third.
California: Around 40 million residents have been told to stay home to prevent the spread of the virus — the first statewide order in the US. California is the most populous US state and is the country’s largest state economy. About 25 million Californians — over half the state’s population — could be impacted by the coronavirus, the governor estimates.
“The Department of State advises US citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19,” the updated advisory said. “In countries where commercial departure options remain available, US citizens who live in the United States should arrange for immediate return to the United States, unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period.”
