Balochistan : Landslide kills a coal miner in Dukki
Hussain Zarkoon:

Landslide killed a coal miner in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Saturday. The miner was working deep inside the mine when a landslide struck, Levies sources said. The landslide killed a coal miner identified as Muhammad Ikhlas, a resident of Afghanistan.

Miners from neighboring mines launched a rescue operation on their own and retrieved the dead body of their colleague, Levies mentioned.

Levies said the dead body shifted to district headquarters hospital Dukki. Levies said Ikhlas was a young man working inside the coal mines of Dukki extracting coal for the last few years.

Dukki has rich coal-reservoirs. However, hazardous working conditions inside coal mines continue to claim precious human lives. Such untoward incidents have almost become the order of the day in Dukki and other parts of Balochistan.
