Harnai: Armed man opened fire inside Jamia Masjid Harnai and killed a policeman in Balochistan’s Harnai town on Wednesday. Azeem Jan Dumar, the Deputy Commissioner Harnai said the wounded policeman identified as Muhammad Waseem succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital. Muhammad Waseem had accompanied members of Tableeghi Jamaat inside the Jamia Masjid when attacked by armed man who was already present inside the Masjid.
Dumar said a suspicious bag was also found inside the Masjid and bomb disposal squad was called for checking. Nuts and bolts, which could be used in a suicide jacket was also found inside the bag after search by bomb disposal squad. The police launched investigation into the incident and members of the Tableeghi Jamaat were also asked about the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
