QUETTA: Four coal miners died as a portion of a mine collapsed in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Wednesday morning. Dost Muhammad Nasar, the Assistant Inspector Mines said the hapless miners were retrieving coal from deep when the tragedy struck.

The dead bodies of the coal miners were retrieved by the rescue workers after five  hours rescue operation, Nasar said. Rescue workers and levies official shifted the dead bodies to nearby hospital. In Balochistan, incidents inside coal mines are common owing to hazardous working conditions for  miners. Such incidents have become order of the day in Dukki, Mach, Sorainge and other parts of Balochistan, where, coal reservoirs are located.
