QUETTA: The Balochistan government has declared emergency in 10 districts bordering with Iran and Afghanistan to cope with corona virus in the province. Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan chaired a high level meeting that thoroughly reviewed arrangements regarding the deadly virus.
The meeting was briefed by secretary health government of Balochistan regarding steps taken to tackle corona virus. Additional chief secretary, Hafiz Basit and other high ups participated in the meeting.
The Balochistan government has purchased 30 K masks and 10 masks have been distributed among the people, the meeting was told. The secretary health informed the meeting that 5000 masks have been distributed in sensitive districts of Balochisan, bordering with Iran and Afghanistan.
Isolation rooms were being set up at Brabcha, Qamar uddin Karez, Chaman, Mashkail, Taftan, Badini and other bordering towns with Iran and Afghanistan, he secretary health briefed the meeting.
The meeting was told that 10 bed ward was set up at Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB hospital for corona patients.
Earlier in the day, finance minister Balochistan Zahoor Buledi while addressing a press conference told reporters that all out efforts were being made to cope with the deadly virus in the province. He said hihterto no case of virus was reported from any part of Balochistan.
Liaqat Shahwani, the spokesman government of Balochistan on the occasion informed that screening of 700 people was conducted. He said that a plan was being evolved for return of Zaireen from Iran into Pakistan.
The government of Pakistan has asked the Iranian authorities to conduct screening of all Zaireen and then allow them to enter into Pakistan. “With an international standard, the screening and verification of Zaireen would be conducted”, Liaqat Shahwani mentioned on the occasion.
