QUETTA: The apex committee here on Wednesday thoroughly reviewed arrangements and plans to contain coronavirus in Balochistan and made a number of important decisions in this regard. Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan chaired the meeting, which discussed all ways and means to halt the spread of deadly coronavirus in the province. Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Waseem Ashraf, Home Minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove and other high ups participated in the meeting.

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Captain (R) Fazeel Asghar briefed the meeting regarding the steps taken by the government to contain the coronavirus and arrangements at  Pak-Iran and Afghan borders.

The meeting expressed satisfaction over the role of civil and military institutions to create awareness among the masses regarding the coronavirus. The meeting decided to take benefit from experiences of South Korea and China in the containment of the virus. Doctors and paramedical staff are playing frontline role therefore, their safety would be ensured, the meeting decided.

The meeting decided to get data of all Pakistanis living in Iran and Afghanistan and arrangements to be expedited at Pak-Iran and Afghan borders.
