CHAGHI: Cash distribution among needy and deserving people has started in Balochistan’s Chaghi district in the wake of outbreak of novel coronavirus. The major objective behind the distribution of money is to support the poor segment of society in the prevailing crisis developed in the aftermath of COVID-19, Amjad Rasheed, the Chief Executive of Taraqee Foundation (TF) told reporters.

Under the World Food Program’s financial assistant, over 10,000 deserving and needy families would be provided cash amounts to support them in the prevailing situation.  On Thursday, the cash amount was distributed among the needy people at a government-run school in Chaghi under “Cash for Work Program”.

Per head were paid Rs. 8,500 in this regard. “The cash amount would be distributed among aged, deserving, widows and disabled persons”, Amjad Rasheed mentioned.

Under this program, 260 million rupees would be distributed among needy people of 12 union councils of Balochistan’s Chaghi and Washuk districts, he added.
