The Balochistan government has approved 981 posts of male, female doctors, and dental surgeons to battle the coronavirus in the province in an effective way. The recruitment process would be initiated on emergency basis by Balochistan Public Service Commission to make sure the provision of health facilities to masses of the province, an official handout issued to the press on Tuesday said.

The vacancies included 449 for male, 447 for female and 85 vacancies of dental surgeons have been approved by the Balochistan government to address the issue of lack of doctors in government-run hospitals of the province.

“The government has decided in principle to improve the health sector in the province”, Noor ul Haq Baloch, the Secretary Finance Balochistan told daily Quetta Voice. The summary initiated by the health department was approved by the chief minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan.

The Balochistan government has already advertised 344 posts of medical officers from BPSC and the process of tests and interviews would be completed on an emergency basis. The number of unemployed doctors in Balochistan is close to 12,00 and with the creation of new posts, there would not be a single unemployed doctor, Mr. Baloch elaborated.

The doctors’ community in Balochistan has been demanding of the provincial government to improve the health sector and create sufficient vacancies to make sure the provision of health facilities to masses of the province.
