KARACHI: Faisal Edhi, the country’s well-known philanthropist, and social worker has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Health officials in Karachi confirmed that Mr. Edhi has been testes positive after his samples were tested from the laboratory.

A few days back, Faisal Edhi had met Prime Minister Imran Khan and handed over a cheque to support the deserving and needy people in the country.

“The symptoms lasted for four days before subsiding,” Saad Edhi, the son of Faisal said.. Soon after, Faisal got tested for Covid-19 and the results came back positive today.

He added that his father was currently in Islamabad and was doing better. “He has not been admitted to any hospital and is self-isolating,” he said.

Mr. Edhi is the son of Abdul Sattar Edhi who established the concept of charity and philanthropy in Pakistan and was internationally recognized for his work for humanity.
