In Quetta, two more young doctors were tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday. Thus, the number of health professionals including 16 doctors and 4 health workers rises to 20 in Balochistan.

The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan in a statement said Dr. Saboor Kakar, the central executive committee member YDA and Dr. Syed Ehsan Shah have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The YDA is scheduled to address a press conference tomorrow (Sunday) regarding issues faced by doctors, Dr. Rahim Babar, the spokesman YDA said in a statement.

Earlier, 14 junior and senior doctors and 4 health workers were tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Balochistan. The doctors have been demanding protective equipment kits to battle the coronavirus in the province. However, the Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani earlier told daily Quetta Voice that the doctors and medical professionals battling the coronavirus have been provided PPEs.

The doctors were baton-charged and arrested during a  protest demonstration near chief minister Balochistan’s secretariat in support of their demands.
