QUETTA: The novel coronavirus continues to spread fast in Balochistan like in other parts of the country. The province confirmed 168 cases of the Covid-19 on Wednesday, which took the tally to 1,663.

Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani in a statement obtained by the daily Quetta Voice mentioned that “today 793 tests were conducted and out of them 168 came positive”.

625 tests were, however, declared negative by the laboratory conducting the novel coronavirus tests in Quetta’s Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB Hospital. 153 patients belong to Quetta, 7 Chaman, 4 Pishin, and 4 belong to district Lasbella, Mr. Shahwani mentioned in his statement.

The Corona Cell of the health department had confirmed 174 cases, the highest cases of the virus on Tuesday. The government had also announced to launch conducting daily 400 tests of the patients at Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta. However, tests are yet to be conducted at the BMC Hospital.
