QUETTA: The Covid-19 cases continue to increase in Balochistan like in other parts of the country. The Corona Cell Balochistan confirmed 71 fresh cases of the deadly virus that took the tally to 2,310 cases in the province.

As per the daily situation report released by the Corona Cell, the virus has claimed 30 lives in Balochistan since the outbreak of the virus. However, 342 patients have recovered from the novel coronavirus so far in Balochistan.

The provincial health department has conducted 16,621 tests up till now. The Balochistan government has placed all hospitals of the province on high alert to tackle the growing crisis developed in the aftermath of the coronavirus. The virus has spread to 20 districts of Balochistan including the provincial capital Quetta.

Balochistan government has also implemented a smart lockdown to contain the spread of the virus in the province. Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday directed all divisional commissioners to expedite efforts for finalizing the projects relating to health sector so that they could be included in the next year’s budget.
