The Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani has said that besides coronavirus, there were increasing cases of typhoid and malaria virus in the province. “So many cases of typhoid and malaria virus are being reported from various parts of the province”, Mr. Shahwani told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday.

Effective measures were being adopted to contain the spread of diseases in Balochistan, he said.

Regarding the COVID19, the Spokesman said that 83 percent of patients of the virus were currently in Quetta. However, the virus continues to spread fast in other far-flung areas of the province. “Increasing cases likely to force the government to impose another lockdown”, Mr. Shahwani warned.

He said the health department has conducted over 22,000 tests of the coronavirus and the government has decided to enhance the tests and steps were being taken to improve the testing capacity.

The Spokesman government of Balochistan stated that 1,100 patients who were infected with coronavirus have recovered. Most of the people have recovered from the deadly virus at their homes. Currently, over 2,200 patients are battling the coronavirus at their homes, he said.

He reiterated that so far 41 people have died of the coronavirus in Balochistan. “People must adopt social distancing and stay at home to defeat the virus”, he added.
