The novel coronavirus continues to spread fast in almost all parts of Balochistan. The deadly virus has been confirmed in 30 out of the total 33 districts of Balochistan. Most of the cases of the coronavirus have been reported from Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

Jaffarabad, Balochistan’s bordering district with Sindh second in terms of coronavirus cases. The district has reported 184 cases of the deadly virus. However, Killa Abdullah district stands second with 145 cases in the province. Pishin has confirmed 140, Mastung has confirmed 126, whereas, Khuzdar has confirmed 76 cases of the deadly virus so far.

District Washuk, Dukki and Kohlu have so far only confirmed one case each as per the statistics shared by the Corona Cell Balochistan.

The virus has caused 73 deaths across the province. Though, ground realities put the number much higher than what is being quoted by the officials. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Balochistan health department has conducted more than 33,000 tests of the virus.

The Balochistan government has decided to enhance and improve the testing capacity to detect maximum patients. “The more we test the more we can detect”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan told the daily Quetta Voice.

He said the provincial government has planned to establish laboratories of coronavirus at Chaman, Naseerabad, Khuzdar and Loralai to detect maximum number of patients.
