Staff Reporter:

The Balochistan health department has confirmed 170 new cases of the novel coronavirus as the tally has reached 10,116 in the province. The virus has so far killed 113 people.

According to a daily situation report released by the Corona Cell on Friday, the virus continues to spread in all 33 districts of Balochistan. Moreover, the cases are on a constant decline in Quetta, the provincial capital.

The Corona cell also revealed in its report that 3,768 patients have recovered from the COVID19 since the outbreak of the pandemic in the province. However, independent sources put the number of recovered people much higher than what is being quoted by officials. A large number of people with mild symptoms of the coronavirus have recovered at their homes in isolation.

Thus, a large number of people also recovered from the deadly virus without being diagnosed or tested for the virus. The death rate appears to be less in Balochistan as compared to other parts of the country, Liaquat Shahwnai, the Spokesman government of Balochistan said.

The Balochistan health department has conducted over 45,000 tests of the COVID1 so far. Most of the tests have been conducted in Quetta city and tests are yet to conducted in far-flung areas of the province.
