“Neither I have any knowledge nor anyone has discussed this constitutional position ( post of Governor Balochistan) with me”, Dr. Ruqia Hashmi, Balochistan’s senior female legislator said. The daily Quetta Voice contacted Dr. Hashmi with regard to her name for the position of Governor Balochistan circulating on social media. “Nothing in my knowledge”, she said.
“My family keeps sitting Governor Balochistan Justice (R) Amanullah Khan Yaseenzai in high esteem and respect”, she briefly responded when asked about the news circulating on social media. Dr. Ruqia Hashmi’s reaction has come a day after the possible replacement of Governor Balochistan.
Dr. Ruqia Hashmi has served as the first female finance minister of Balochistan and she remained a provincial minister in Nawab Aslam Raisani led coalition government. She is the wife of senior parliamentarian and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) patron-in-chief, Saeed Ahmed Hashmi.
