The Federal Government has transferred back the brother of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F) Chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman to Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa a few days after his appointment as deputy commissioner in Karachi.

The Sindh government had appointed Maulana Fazal’s brother as deputy commissioner in one of the key districts of Karachi. An Establishment Division notification dated July 27 said: “Ziaur Rehman, a BS-19 officer of Provincial Management Service (PMS), the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, presently posted in the government of Sindh, is transferred and his services are repatriated to the KP government with immediate effect.”

The KP government had asked the Establishment Division to transfer back Mr. Zia ur Rehman. The transfer order was criticized on social media by journalists and people belonging to various walks of life. People on social-media networking Twitter have criticized former president Asif Ali Zardari and Maulana Fazal Rehman in this regard.

On July 23, the Sindh government had posted Rehman as the deputy commissioner of Karachi’s Central district by transferring Farhan Ghani, an ex-PCS officer, also in grade-19.
