Well-known artist, Wasif alias Wasu and famous singer Shehzad Roy called on chief minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the provincial government has established a welfare fund of Rs. 200 million for local artists.

Apart from this, Rs. 5 million have been allocated for local artists affected the COVID19.

Famous singer Shehzad Roy thoroughly briefed the Chief Minister with regard to his foundation’s contribution to the education  sector. The Chief Minister agreed with Shehzad Roy for his intervention in two government-run schools in Quetta.

Children’s rights and protection from sexual and mental abuse have been included in the Sindh government’s curriculum, Shehzad Roy informed the Chief Minister. He also suggested the Balochistan government to include child abuse and rights protection in the provincial curriculum so that children could be protected from all sorts of abuses.

Wasu’s ailing health and plight went viral on social media few days back. This prompted the Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani to visit Wasu’s residence and finally, the ailing local artist called on the chief minister. The chief minister assured all possible support including financial assistance to Wasu during the meeting.
