Security forces foil terror bid near Pak-Afghan border

QUETTA: Security forces foiled a major terror bid near the Pak-Afghan border on Thursday morning. A security official told Quetta Voice, forces conducted a raid in the Qamaruddin Karez area near the Afghan border. He requested anonymity.

He said security forces recovered bombs dumped near the border. The weight of bombs recovered by the security forces was from 6kg to 8kg. Explosive materials were also recovered during the action.

Terrorists planning to carry out terror acts in Balochistan

The official said the terrorists were planning to carry out subversive activities in Balochistan. However, timely intelligence reports helped the forces to avert any untoward incident. He said no arrest made during the raid since the terrorists had fled from the spot.

Pakistan has tightened security around Pak-Afghan border to stop the flow of narcotics and weapons form the war-ravaged country. “An investigation is underway in the recovery of bombs”, the official informed.
