Zehir, Qadir Baloch decide to resign from PML N
Quetta Voice Report :
Former Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and Lt. General (R) Qadir Baloch have decided to resign from the Pakistan Muslim League (N). The two leaders from Balochistan have decided in principle to quit the former ruling party, sources close to them told Quetta Voice.
Difference developed between two PML N leaders from Balochistan and the party’s high command regarding the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Quetta Jalsa. The PML N had not invited Nawab Zehri to the PDM jalsa citing his tribal feud with Sardar Akhtar Mengal as the underlying reason.
Nawab Sanaullah Zehri’s absence from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Jalsa (Public Meeting) angered Lt General (R) Qadir Baloch. The former CM Balochistan Nawab Zehri was not present during the PDM Quetta Jalsa on the stage. Although, Nawab Zehri had received the Pakistan Muslim League (N) Vice-President, Maryam Nawaz at Quetta airport along with other party leaders. Mr. Baloch is likely to be replaced by PML N leader Sardar Yaqoob Nasar ad the provincial president, some sections of media reported on Saturday evening.
“Absence of Zehri from PDM Quetta Jalsa has angered Lt. General (R) Qadir Baloch”, a provincial office-bearer of the PML N told Quetta Voice. He requested anonymity. The 11-party anti-government alliance held a mammoth public meeting in Quetta on October 25. “I have joined the party because of Lt. General (R) Qadir Baloch he is part and will be part of the party”, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail told media men. Mr. Mandokhail has recently joined PML N.
The absence of Nawab Zehri who led the PML N for more than a decade in Balochistan raised more questions. It was yet to be confirmed that Zehri boycotted the public meeting or PML N leaders did not invite him. “Organizers of the Jalsa preferred not to invite Nawab Zehri”, the local PML N leader revealed. The reason behind not inviting him, was the presence of Sardar Akhtar Mengal since the two could not feel comfortable at the stage, he pointed out. However, Lt General (R) Baloch has also stated to have opposed the PDM narrative in public meetings.
Nawab Zehri is yet to make any statement with regard to the issue. However, sources within the PML N confirms that the decision of not inviting angered him. “I personally think Nawab Zehri would not stay in the party anymore”, he claimed.
Rumors about cracks that emerged within PML N dominated some TV screens. However, the party leadership is yet to issue a formal statement in this regard. During the 2013 general elections, Nawab Zehri elected as an MPA from Khuzdar and served as chief minister Balochistan for around 2 years.
