Khalid Lango’s name to remain on ECL: Balochistan High Court

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered to keep the name of Khalid Langove, the former adviser to the Chief Minister on finance in the Exit Control List (ECL) until the announcement of judgment in the mega corruption scandal. A division bench of the BHC rejected an application filed by Mr. Langove for removal of his name from the ECL.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Mr. Langove in the Balochistan Mega Corruption Scandal during the former chief minister, Dr. Malik Baloch led government. Mr. Langove in his application had appealed the BHC to remove his name from the ECL. In the application, Mr. Langove argued that he wants abroad for medical treatment and intend to perform Umrah.
The division bench of the BHC comprising Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Zaheer Uddin Kakar rejected the application of Mr. Langove.
Mega Corruption Scandal Completed Six Months Back
During the hearing of the application, the NAB prosecutor informed the court that the mega corruption scandal case completed six months back. He also pointed out that there was also a ban on performing Umrah and therefore, the name of the accused should be kept on ECL until the judgment.
The division bench ordered to keep the name of Khalid Langove on ECL until the judgment of the case by the Accountability Court Quetta.
NAB recovered dozens of bags full of local and foreign currencies
NAB officials had recovered dozens of bags full of local and foreign currencies from the residence of former secretary finance Mushtaq Raisani during the PM LN and nationalists led government in Balochistan. Mr. Langove had resigned in the aftermath of the scandal and NAB had arrested him. The BHC later granted bail to Mr. Langove in the mega corruption scandal.
