Customs foil major smuggling bid near Balochistan’s Noshki

QUETTA: Customs personnel foiled a major smuggling bid near Balochistan’s Noshki on Thursday. Customs Spokesman Atta Muhammad Bareech said customs personnel stopped a Mazda Truck at Noshki checkpoint.
During the search, customs personnel recovered clothes and other smuggled goods. Mr. Bareech informed that customs also seized narcotics including brown-sugar and ice-shisha during the search. Brown-sugar is used in the production of heroin and considered to be the most costly narco-substance.
The smugglers were planning to smuggle the goods and narcotics to other parts of the country when customs officials timely acted and foiled a major bid of smuggling, he said. No arrest made during the search operation.

The value of seized goods and narcotics is millions of rupees in the open market. The raid conducted on special directions of Gul Rehman, the Collector Customs Balochistan. However, inspector Saleem Mandokhail and Ali Ahmed Lehri played an important role in the recovery of smuggled goods.
