Winter Zone Balochistan: vacations announced for educational institutions

The Balochistan education department on Thursday announced winter vacations for the educational institutions in the winter zone of the province. All educational institutions will remain closed from Nov 26 to February 28, 2021, in the winter zone, a notification issued by the secretary of education said. The academic year for the winter zone of Balochistan will begin from March 1st , 2021.

In the summer zone of Balochistan, the educational institutions will remain closed from Nov 26 to January 10. The education department has made this decision in light of the decision of the federal government, the notification mentioned.

The Balochistan government has made this decision to contain the second-wave of the novel coronavirus in the province. The government has directed the concerned departments to make all necessary arrangements to tackle the second-wave of the deadly virus.

In a separate notification issued by the secretary of higher education, all colleges, inter-colleges, and universities will remain closed from Nov 26 to Dec 24th in the province. The secretary of higher education in Balochistan, Hashim Ghilzai has directed all administrative staff and non-teaching staff to remain present at their duty locations.

The Balochistan government has also launched the process of recruitment of 1445 doctors to effectively battle the novel coronavirus.
