Panjgoor: Video of levies man beating a citizen went viral

The video of levies personnel beating up a citizen in Balochistan’s Panjgoor district went viral on social media. In the video, a levies man is shown beating up a young man standing at a vehicle in Paroam area of Panjgoor.
The video prompted the deputy commissioner Panjgoor, Abdul Razzaq Sasoli to sack the said levies personnel for beating up the citizen. Locals claimed that the levies men were demanding bribery from the young man.
The incident was widely condemned by people belonging to various walks of life. However, the DC timely reacted and issued a termination order of the levies man. “Video proves the accused involvement and there is no need of any further investigation”, a letter shared in social media groups said. The letter was issued by the office of the deputy commissioner Panjgoor.
In Panjgoor, a large number of smugglers use unfrequented routes at the Pak-Iran border to smuggle diesel and petrol into Pakistan from Iran.
