“Nobody is above the law, Maulana has to surrender before NAB”, PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister, Imran Khan has categorically stated that “nobody is above the law, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has to surrender before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)”. The Premier chaired a high-level meeting of official spokesmen and party leaders to devise a strategy about the Senate elections and PDM agitation.
Imran Khan stated that opposition parties sought NRO in the shape of amendments in the NAB ordinance. “Opposition protest is only for NRO”, he asserted. The Prime Minister said that the second phase of opposition protest would also fail since the masses have rejected them in the country.
Imran Khan informed that the opposition parties presented 34 points with regard to amendments in NAB amendment to seek NRO from the government. “This is not possible to grant NRO to the opposition”, he added.
No recognition of Israel: PM said
About Israel, the Premier made it clear that Pakistan has its principle stance about Israel and the Jewish State’s recognition was out of the question.
“We are waging Jehad against mafia that is engaged in propaganda against us”, he said. Prime Minister said, “we have determined to work for the development and prosperity of the country”.
Federal Information Minister, Shibli Faraz informed the meeting that the opposition was demanding that there should be no inquiry of cases before 2015. It was one of their demands for amendments in the NAB ordinance, the minister said.
PDM to intensify protest in the country in January
Prime Minister’s statement has come after the anti-government alliance announced to intensify its protest movement against the government in January 2021. The 11-party alliance has also announced to collect resignations of all opposition lawmakers by December 31st as part of their protest against the government.
