Police arrest 3 absconders in children rape case in Turbat

Police on Friday arrested 3 absconders involved in the rape of two children in the Turbat area of Balochistan. Sher Jan, the Station House Officer (SHO) said all three absconders nominated by parents of victims arrested during a raid in Buleda tehsil of district Kech Turbat.

Police had already arrested one accused in connection with the rape of two innocent children in the Buleda area. Sher Jan informed that four accused had subjected two minor children to sexual abuse in Buleda tehsil of district Kech.

The accused include Atif, Sartaj, Sagheer, and Zareef. “We are interrogating all the accused in custody”, Sher Jan told. The accused produced before a judicial magistrate in Turbat for the acquisition of remand. Amid tight security, all three accused shifted to the police station for interrogation.

The incident caused outrage across Balochistan

The incident caused outrage across Balochistan and other parts of the country and widely condemned on social media networks Facebook and Twitter. The people had demanded the police to arrest the culprits involved in the incident. The Balochistan government had also taken notice of Turbat rape incident and directed the police to apprehend the culprits.

Violence and incidents of sexual abuse against children increased 

Incidents of violence and sexual abuse against children have increased in Balochistan currently. Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail ordered the subordinate courts to expedite cases of child abuse. The top judge of the province had also directed the concerned divisional commissioners to submit a comprehensive report with regard to child abuse in their divisions. The CJ BHC had taken notice of the rape and murder of a minor boy in Maizai Addah area of Killa Abdullah district.
