Poisonous gas kills a coal miner in Chamalang Balochistan, 7 recovered

Poisonous gas has killed a coal miner in Balochistan’s Chamalang area on Sunday evening. Iftikhar Ahmed, a police officer said rescue workers have however recovered 7 coal miners trapped inside the mine. The coal mine filled with poisonous gas and claimed the life of a miner, Mr. Ahmed said.
The recovered coal miners were initially unconscious and now stable, he mentioned. The seven miners have been shifted to hospital for medical treatment. Mr. Ahmed said the coal miners belonged to Afghanistan. Coal miners were working deep inside the mine when the poisonous gas filled the entire mine. The rescue workers timely reacted and saved the lives of 7, the police officer informed. He however said that the poisonous gas claimed one life.
Hazardous working conditions continue to claim human lives
Hazardous working conditions in Balochistan continue to claim precious human lives for a long time. Despite repeated appeals on the part of laborer associations and human rights groups, working conditions inside coal mines have not been improved.
This incident has happened few days after an incident in the Chamalang area inside the coal mine. Fortunately, all 6 coal miners rescued and none was harmed. Chamalang area of Loralai district of Balochistan houses rich-coal reservoirs and thousands of miners have been extracting coal from mines.
