Quetta safe city project: Jam Kamal dismays over delay in implementation

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has dismayed over the unnecessary delay in the implementation of the Quetta safe city project. The CM chaired a high-level meeting that reviewed prison reforms and the pace of work on the Quetta safe city project.

The meeting expressed displeasure over unnecessary delay in the implementation of the project by NESPAK, an official handout said. “Inform NESPAK about the reservations and displeasure of the meeting”, the handout quoted CM Balochistan.

Under the project, 1,400 secret cameras be installed 

Quetta safe city project approved a few years back aimed at improving the security of the city. Under the project, over 1,400 secret cameras would be installed for security monitoring of the city. “This is a big project”, the Chief Minister said. The project should be completed at the earliest, he added.

The past government had approved the project to make sure improvement of security arrangements in the city in view of increasing terrorist attacks. However, the project is yet to be completed despite repeated announcements by the concerned quarters.

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Bushra Rind, the parliamentary secretary for information, chief secretary Balochistan, Fazeel Asghar, Balochistan Police chief Mohsin Hassan Butt, additional chief secretary home, Hafiz Basit and other high ups attended the meeting.
