PakAfghan border: 187km fencing completed: Balochistan Minister

The government has completed the fencing of 187km at Pak-Afghan border Chaman. Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove chaired a high-level meeting in Chaman on Monday. The officials briefed the minister about the progress with regard to the fencing of the border.

“All stakeholders should ensure timely completion of their work”, the Minister issued directives. Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Hafiz Abdul Basit, Brigadier Wajid of the Southern Command, and other concerned officers also participated in the meeting. The meeting thoroughly reviewed decisions made during previous meetings.

“Fencing will bring an end to illegal movement”, Home Minister 

“Fencing will bring an end to illegal movement at the border”, the Home Minister said. He said fencing of the border was in the interest of both countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“Grievances of locals would be addressed on a priority basis”, the Minister assured. He directed the concerned quarters to regularly meet the local people and address their issues.

The government launched fencing to stop terrorism 

The government has launched fencing of the border to stop the flow of terrorists into Pakistan and ensure legal movement at the border, Mr. Langove added.

The completion of fencing is indispensable for ensuring peace in the area, he said. “It is the responsibility of all stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities”, Zia Ullah Langove said. He directed the concerned officials to expedite the process of fencing at the border.
