FIA Quetta arrests 3 accused involved in Hawala Hundi transfers

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested 3 accused involved in Hawala Hundi transfers in Quetta city. Cheque books of various banks also recovered during the raid, an official of the FIA said.

The accused identified as Hafiz Izatullah, Wali Muhammad, and Walo Dad. The accused shifted to FIA’s office for interrogation, Shafiq Ur Rehman Shahwani, the Deputy Director FIA commercial Banking circle Balochistan Quetta. Raid conducted on the directives of director FIA Balochistan, Abdul Hameed Bhutto, Mr. Shahwani added.

Cheque books used in foreign exchange

Mr. Shahwani informed checkbooks for different banks which were used in Foreign exchange and Hawala/Hundi payments against payments made abroad especially to Dubai and Iran.
FIA also seized 03 laptops.

FIA had arrested 10 accused a few days back in Quetta 

This raid has come few days after the FIA arrested 10 accused in Quetta city over their involvement in Hawala and Hundi transfers. FIA has stepped up efforts against the elements involved in Hawala Hundi transfers as a part of the implementation of the conditions put by the federal government to comply with the Financial  Assistance Task Force (FATF).
