Gwadar land scandal: NAB files reference against 15 accused

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed reference against 15 accused involved in Gwadar land scandal. Spokesman NAB said the accused were involved in sale and tampering of revenue record causing a loss of millions of rupees to national exchequer.

The Spokesman NAB mentioned the accused also include five tehsildars including a serving one. The accused had tampered the revenue record and conducted illegal sale of lands in the port city of Gwadar.

844 private businessmen purchased the land

He said the investigation revealed that serving tehsildar Bohair Dashti, former tehsildar Tariq Gichki, Nisar Ahmed Gorgaig, Noor Bizenjo, Nazeer Bizenjo, and other accused tampered official revenue record. They sold 844 acres of land to private businessmen and causing a financial loss of Rs. 214 million to the national exchequer.

NAB Balochistan filed the reference at the Accountablity Court Quetta against the accused. NAB has intensified its operations against the corrupt elements operating in various government departments in the province.

NAB unearths massive corruption in the Fisheries department 

The anti-corruption bureau had recently unearthed a mega corruption scandal in the Fisheries department government of Balochistan. NAB has also arrested some key officers involved in massive corruption in the Fisheries department.
