Inquiry committee inspects ship anchored at Gadani Balochistan

Members of the inquiry committee inspected the ship anchored at Gadani Balochistan on Friday. The members of the committee thoroughly reviewed safety arrangements at the Gaddani shipyard.

“The committee members could not go inside the ship because of high-tides in the sea”, Imran Khan Kakar, an officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) told Quetta Voice.

“Hopefully, tomorrow they will go inside the ship”, Mr. Kakar informed. The Balochistan government had ordered an inquiry into the anchoring of the ship at the Gadani shipyard the other day.

Samples of chemicals would be sent to the laboratory 

Chemicals inside the ship would be sent to the Environmental laboratory, ministry of science and technology for the test, he mentioned. The Balochistan government had requested the laboratory to collect the samples.

Muhammad Khan Utmankhail, the Director Technical, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Balochistan said the ship would remain sealed until completion of the investigation.
