Balochistan Govt increases salaries of employees by 25%: Buledi

The Balochistan government has decided to increase the salaries of government employees by 25 percent in the budget for the financial year 2021-2022. Finance Minister Balochistan, Zahoor Buledi made this announcement at a news conference on Thursday. Abdul Malik Kakar, the Chief of Balochistan Employees and Workers Grand Alliance (BEWGA), and others were also present on the occasion.
BEWGA called off its scheduled protest outside the Balochistan Assembly on the eve of budget tomorrow (June 18). Employees leaders and the government team held thorough negotiations to break the deadlock and reach a consensus.

Mr. Buledi stated that the 25 percent increase in salaries includes a 15 percent disparity reduction allowance and 10 percent on running pay. “Despite fiscal burdens, the government decided to increase the salaries of employees”, the Finance Minister stated.
Balochistan Employees and Workers Grand Alliance (BEWGA) had announced to lay siege to the Balochistan Assembly session on the eve of the budget session. The provincial government has decided to present the budget for the financial year 2021-2022 on June 18.
BEWGA had staged a 12-days long sit-in in Quetta
BEWGA held a 12-days long sit-in Quetta in March this year in support of their demands. The employees ended their long sit-in after an order from the Balochistan High Court (BHC).
Mr. Buleid however clarified that a formal announcement about the increase in salaries would be made formally in the budget tomorrow. Malik Kakar and others thanked the minister and the government for the announcement.
