ANP leader Obaidullah Kasi kidnapped from Kuchlak

A leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) was kidnapped from Quetta’s Kuchlak area on Saturday. Party members and relatives said unknown armed men kidnapped Malik Obaidullah Kasi from the Killi Katir area of Kuchlak.

The enraged ANP workers and tribesmen blocked the main Quetta-Chaman highway for the recovery of Malik Obaidullah Kasi. Long queues of vehicles could be seen on the highway linking Pakistan with Afghanistan. Police have launched investigation into the reported incident, police sources said. So far no arrest made in connection with the incident, they added.

President ANP Balochistan, Asghar Khan Achakzai also joined the protest and condemned the kidnapping of the party leader. Subsequently, the Quetta administration held successful negotiations with protesters to open the highway.
