JC recommends elevation of Justice Jamal Mandokhail to SC

Judicial Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday recommended the elevation of Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Jamal Mandokhail to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Mr. Justice Gulzar Ahmed chaired the meeting of the JC. The meeting decided to elevate Justice Mandokhail to the apex court. Sources in the judiciary said, senior judge of the BHC, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan is going to be the new Chief Justice BHC.
PBC welcomes elevation of JC
Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has welcomed the elevation of Justice Mandokhail to the apex court. In a statement issued after the JC recommendation, the PBC expressed satisfaction over the elevation of Justice Mandokhail and endorsed that the case of Mr. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar has differed in line with the wishes of the legal fraternity of the country.
PBC appreciated the recommendation of the JC and termed it sticking to the principle of justice.
After the elevation of Justice Mandokhail, now there are two judges including Mr. Justice Qazi Faez Isa from Balochistan.
Legal fraternity in Balochistan also welcomes the decision
The legal fraternity in Balochistan has also welcomed the elevation of the top judge of the province to the apex court. “We appreciate the decision of the JC”, Asif Reki Advocate, the central leader of lawyers in Quetta said.
Muhammad Ishaq Nasar advocate, another senior lawyer said the outgoing Chief Justice of BHC had always upheld the banner of justice in his judgments. “This is the success of whole Balochistan”, Mr. Nasar remarked.
