Balochistan: Over 100 absent doctors sacked: Liaquat Shahwani
Syed Ali Shah :
Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani has revealed that the health department has sacked over 100 absent doctors across the province. “They were chronic absentees”, he said.
The Spokesman took to social media network Twitter and announced the termination of 9 doctors on Saturday. However, he said overall over 100 doctors absent from their duties were terminated from jobs throughout the province. The Spokesman however mentioned that doctors were terminated during the last three years in the province.
The doctors were working on a contract basis in various parts of the province. The Balochistan government had recruited over 1,000 medical and lady medical officers on a contract basis last year to improve health facilities across Balochistan.
Sacked doctors were found absent from duties
The sacked doctors were found absent at district headquarters hospital Kech, Sibi, Chaman, Khuzdar, and other districts of the province.
Hospitals across Balochistan paint a bleak picture when it comes to health facilities. In rural parts of the province, people continue to complain about the absence of doctors from duties. In view of increasing complaints, the provincial government recently bifurcated the health department into two parts to improve its performance.
