Quetta: Kidnappers kill ANP leader Malik Obaidullah Kasi

Kidnappers have killed Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Malik Obaidullah Kasi. Family and party sources said the kidnappers have killed Malik Kasi in captivity. The dead body of the abducted ANP leader was found in the Shabo head area of Saranan Tehsil of Pishin district, Levies sources said.
The dead body of the ANP leader shifted to district headquarters hospital Pishin. “The dead body is almost four days old”, Dr. Saleemullah Pathan, the Medical Superintendent of Pishin hospital said.
A large number of ANP workers reached the hospital and chanted full-throated slogans against the government. They also blocked the Quetta-Pishin road for a while to vent their anger.
Armed kidnappers had abducted ANP leader from the Katir area of Kuchlak on June 26. “The elder brutally murdered”, an ANP leader told Quetta Voice. He preferred not to be named. Party legislators including Asghar Khan Achakzai and Zamarak Khan Achakzai reached civil hospital after the recovery of the dead body.
A large number of ANP leaders and tribal elders reached the residence of Malik Obaidullah Kasi after the recovery of his dead body. Family sources said the kidnappers had demanded ransom for the release of Obaidullah Kasi. The family had refused to pay the ransom amount.
ANP had also staged protest demonstrations against the kidnapping of its leader.
Killing sparks protests in Quetta
The killing of Malik Obaidullah Kasi sparked protests in various parts of Quetta city. Angry ANP workers burnt tires at main Manan Chowk and Almo Chowk to vent their anger against the incident. They strongly criticized the government and police for their failure to ensure the unhurt recovery of Kasi.
Shahwani condemns the incident
Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani has strongly condemned the killing of ANP leader Malik Obaidullah Kasi. In a statement after the incident, Mr. Shahwani said the perpetrators of the heinous crime would be brought to justice.
