Health Desk :
Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan has rejected the transfers of Trainee Medical Officers (TMOs) from tertiary hospitals of district headquarters hospital. Dr. Yasir Achakzai chaired an important meeting of various doctors organizations in Quetta.
The meeting strongly rejected recent transfers and demanded of the Balochistan health department to cancel the orders. The YDA demanded the provision of all facilities including laboratories, medicines, operation theaters, ICUs, and other basic facilities to DHQs across the province.
The YDA and other doctors organizations also demanded of the Chief Minister Balochistan and Secretary of Health to improve health facilities at the only Trauma Center located in civil hospital Quetta.
They lamented that despite repeated appeals, the government has failed to improve health facilities at government-run hospitals and Trauma centers. YDA also rejected what it claimed was the proposed plan for the privatization of government-run hospitals in Balochistan.
It also objected to the bifurcation of the health department and claimed that the distribution of power was still a problem in the health department.
