CM Balochistan Jam Kamal resigns as BAP President

Staff Reporter :

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has resigned as the President of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) on Friday. In a message on Twitter, the CM announced, “I relinquished the post of president BAP today”. The CM’s tweet has come in the aftermath of serious differences within the ruling party.

The CM’s announcement has come days after serious differences erupted in the ruling BAP. Over a dozen legislators from the ruling party have demanded of the incumbent CM to step down. However, the CM continues to resist the pressure from the opponents within the party.

The differences emerged within the ruling party when 16 opposition lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against the incumbent CM Jam Kamal Khan.

“No party has so much space for freedom”, Jam Kamal

Jam Kamal mentioned in the tweet that he has served as the President of the party for three years and made all possible efforts to organize the party. No party has so much space of freedom as BAP has where everyone can express their views, suggestions, and criticism openly and without fear.

There was no immediate response from the angry members regarding the decision of CM Balochistan. However, a well-placed source close to the angry members said an important meeting of disgruntled members would be held at the residence of Asad Baloch.

Angry members to meet at Asad Baloch’s residence

Mr. Baloch who belongs to the Balochistan National Party (Awami) has also joined the angry BAP members. All angry members were directed to reach the residence of Asad Baloch to devise a future strategy, he said.

“The angry members would hand over their resignations to speaker Qudoos Bizenjo”, the source claimed. So far all talks have failed to break the deadlock, which exists within the ruling party.
