Security forces foil terror bid in Quetta, recover weapons

Security forces foiled a major terrorism bid by seizing weapons in Quetta’s Sariab Road on Thursday. Forces conducted a raid at a graveyard and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, security sources said.

Law enforcers also arrested a suspected terrorist from the spot. A bomb disposal squad was called in the area to defuse explosive materials. The weapons include explosive materials, detonators, and other weapons.

The terrorist was shifted for interrogation by the forces. Terrorists were planning to carry out major terrorist activity in Quetta and its suburbs when forces timely acted and foiled the bid. Security forces acted on a tip-off and arrested the terrorist and recovered weapons, they said.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has appreciated the law enforcement agencies for foiling the terrorism bid. In a statement issued here on Thursday evening, the CM said security forces have played an important role in maintaining the law and order situation of the province.
