Three injured in Nawan Killi Quetta explosion

At least three people were injured in a bomb explosion in Quetta’s Nawan Killi area on Saturday. Police sources said the bomb went off at Nawan Killi Stop. They said a police patrolling party was the target of the explosion.

The injured were shifted to civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment. Police reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. A large number of residents of the area also reached the spot of the incident.

The blast smashed the glasses of nearby shops located in the area. The blast was heard far and wide causing panic in the area. All the injured were civilians, police sources said. Police said the terrorists had planted an improvised explosive device in a motorcycle parked on the roadside.

CM Bizenjo condemns the attack

Chief Minister Balochistan, Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the blast and termed it a cowardly act on the part of terrorists. In a statement issued after the blast, Mr. Bizenjo directed police to arrest the culprits involved in the terrorist acts. He said the elements behind the terror attack would not be spared.

Balochistan witnesses rise in terror attacks

Balochistan has witnessed a sharp rise in the number of terrorist attacks recently. This blast has come after low-scale bomb explosions in district Kech and Kharan of Balochistan province. Chief Minister Balochistan, Quddus Bizenjo had taken serious notice of the fresh wave of terrorism in Balochistan. The CM had chaired a high-level meeting to review the law and order situation in the province. All concerned officials had briefed the CM about the prevailing law and order situation in the province.

Mr. Bizenjo had directed all law enforcers to make coordinated efforts and boost coordination to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the province.
