PMC registers all 600 medical students of Balochistan

GoB committee can conduct admissions for all medical colleges

Health Desk :

QUETTA: Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has made it clear that the government of Balochistan’s admission committee has the mandate to conduct admissions for the Bolan Medical College and all other three colleges of the province.

The Bolan University of Medical Health Sciences (BUMHS) should transfer all admissions applications to the government of Balochistan committee, said in a letter of PMC to the health department’s chief planning officer. A copy of the letter was received by this daily.

The notification on 22 November was given by PMC in response to the current issue of MBBS and BDS admissions for years 2021-2022 between Bolan Medical College and Bolan Medical University. Both the Bolan medical college and university-issued different advertisements regarding MBBS and BDS admissions in the four medical colleges of Balochistan.

Recent advertisements put students in confusion

These advertisements not only put students in confusion but also created some misunderstandings between the two institutes. After receiving various queries and complaints the PMC notified that the admission committee of GoB has the mandate of the admission process in BUMHS.

It is to be notified that BUMHS will accept the already submitted forms on each of the advertisements. BUMHS will not restart the admission process and proceed with the submitted application forms. PMC has taken this step to create ease for the students of Balochistan.

This notification also mentioned that the merit list of BUMHS is required to go up on 10th December, and admissions to open seats to close by 10th January 2022 with Quota seats to close by 10th February.
