Maulana Wasey demands probe into COVID19 funds corruption

Balochistan Amir of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F), Maulana Abdul Wasey has demanded an independent and impartial probe into the reported embezzlement in the COVID19 funds. Auditor General Balochistan’s report revealed billions of corruption in the corona funds in the province.

“We demand an impartial inquiry into the embezzlement”, the Maulana said in a statement issued on Thursday. The JUI F leader said it was irony of fate that rulers swallowed funds allocated for the COVID19 patients and to battle the deadly virus. “Probe of this embezzlement should be made public”, Maulana Wasey said.

The Auditor General’s report unearthed massive corruption in the purchase of medicines, machinery, etc during the battle against the deadly virus. Former Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal led government had allocated substantial funds to battle the virus after its outbreak.
