UNHCR installs oxygen plant at CHQ hospital Quetta

Health Desk :

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has installed an oxygen plant at the Children’s Hospital Quetta (CHQ). “This is a good example of international support to the Afghan refugees and local community”, Humera Karim, the provincial Spokesman for the UNHCR posted on her Facebook page.

Officials from the world refugee agency and senior doctors of the CHQ were also present on the occasion. Health professionals, Afghan refugees, and locals have hailed the initiative taken by the UNHCR to support the patients.

CHQ, which was established with the support of the German government has lacked an oxygen facility. It was one of the longstanding demands of the health professionals and parents. Currently, the health department government of Balochistan has taken administrative control of the hospital established for the treatment of children.
